ABLE Adjustment for SSI Program Proposed

Representative Debbie Dingell (D-MI) has introduced H.R. 9384, the Stephen Wira ABLE Act, to adjust the amounts in Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) accounts that are excluded from consideration with respect to the Social Security Income Program. The bill would adjust the amount that is disregarded from the current level of $100,000 to $150,000 for 2026, and further adjust by the Consumer Price Index in successive years. The bill was referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means.
