Treasury to Accept Philanthropic Stock Contributions for Trump Accounts, Launches Program
The Department of the Treasury has announced that it will accept large philanthropic contributions of readily tradable public company stock to support Trump Accounts. Under the new process, eligible contributors may transfer approved publicly traded stock to Treasury. The stock will be contributed to Trump Accounts for eligible children consistent with the donor’s instructions, applicable law, and additional Treasury guidance.
Over six million families have signed up for Trump Accounts prior to the official launch of the program over the weekend. According to Treasury, the Trump Accounts app now offers full-scope functionality nationwide, allowing parents and kids to securely access their account, see their funds in real time, and contribute to their Trump Account directly from their phone or tablet.
President Trump rang the opening bells of both the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ from the Oval Office, marking the official launch of Trump accounts.
